Ride the Waves for Weight control

Have you tried to lose weight? Are you baffled by all the different advice that is out there? Wondering which Slimming Club to go to or which diet is best – High Protein Low Carb; High GI Low GI, do you follow the Fast 5 or the Fast 19? You achieve relative success only to put the weight back on.

Most diets rely on the restriction of food in one way or another, what they don’t do is teach you how to live a normal healthy life once you have lost the weight. How to approach food like a thin person does. Hypnotherapy looks to change your relationship with food as a whole. It also helps you to understand the link between weight loss and exercise and that the more you exercise the easier it becomes and the more you want to do! Honest!

However, the first step is to answer some difficult questions such as:

  • When do you eat?
  • What do you eat?
  • Where do you eat?
  • Do you eat on the run?
  • Do you reward yourself with food?
  • Do you eat when you are upset/angry/bored?
  • Do you eat snacks between meals?

These questions are all very relevant to show your relationship with food, but perhaps the most critical question of all is ‘Do I really want to lose weight?’
If the answer to this question is yes, then you must then ask, am I doing it for myself or am I being pressured into it?

Questions answered and you are now feeling positive towards losing weight. Great, so even before the Hypnotherapy session takes place you can see that there is a lot of ground-work to be done. You may even be asked to keep a food log for the first week where you write down everything you consume from waking to sleeping and where you were when you ate it. You’ll also be asked to make a note how you were feeling emotionally when you ate. One peculiarity about this task, however, is that you will be asked to write down everything you eat BEFORE you eat it….

Once we have the information to work on, we can work on a plan of action. I may use both Hypnotherapy and NLP in the sessions but you can rest assured at the end of the sessions you should be able to take control of your eating habits, recognize what drives you to eat, improve your exercise activity, and maintain your motivation.

The first session will then finish with me introducing you to the process of hypnosis and guide you through to deep relaxation where I may make a series of suggestions to your sub-conscious mind. You should not be worried about this process, I cannot get you to howl like a wolf or cluck like a chicken nor can I get you to tell me your PIN number. If you don’t want to do something, you won’t do it. Simple…

Remember though, you have to want to lose weight for yourself. It’s no good if your doctor, partner or significant other has told you to lose weight. So, are you ready to make the journey to a new, more confident, more energetic you?

A weight loss program generally takes up to six sessions but many see an improvement after three sessions.
